At least 10 vessels have been involved in a yacht fire at the Marina Palmira in La Paz, Mexico, on Thursday 2 November, with four yachts completely destroyed and sunk.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/292737/image/large-f084032c79256ec813f3ed8c7cf0ca7b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/292737">According to local online news website Riviera Maya News, the fire was alleged to have started early morning at Marina Palmira, with the Guardia Nacional (National Guard) first on the scene after reports were made at around 4am local time.&nbsp;“The Guardia Nacional activated the PlanGN_A to provide assistance to the population after a fire was recorded that affected several boats in the Marina Palmira area in the municipality of La Paz BCS,” commented the Guardia Nacional.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/292739/image/large-4af4648ce7521b92daee4fff700a60ab.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/292739">The head of municipal Civil Protection, Héctor Amparano, told local news sources that no injuries had been reported, but that the fire started in four yachts, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7045" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Optimus32.61m (106'12&quot;)Hatteras Yachts2019">Optimus</a>, Perfecto, Mira Viliz and Invictus, all of which were a total loss from sinking.&nbsp;“The yacht owners, as well as the boating community and local residents, watched helplessly as the flames spread. Another nice thing about this client/friend is that he was my first boat sale when I moved to Florida in 1985, and this was the 13th boat I sold him.
